What is in it?

Shea butter and glycerin are in the base so a tannin bar washes like soap rather than stripping like a detergent.
How do I use it?
Lather, then leave it on the chest, the back of the neck and the underarms for about thirty seconds before rinsing. Let the bar drain between showers and it lasts noticeably longer.
How long does one bar last?
Four to six weeks with a daily shower. Let it drain on a dish between uses and it lasts longer.

The problem is not the shower. It is four hours later.
Around forty, skin begins producing an aldehyde called 2-nonenal. Soap lifts oil, and this is not an oil — it survives the wash.
Persimmon tannin is a polyphenol, and polyphenols bind aldehydes. The compound leaves with the water instead of sitting on skin until evening.

Plant oil turned into soap by cold process. It is what makes the bar a bar — the hardness and the lather.
Listed first because there is the most of it. Everything else sits inside it.
A mild emulsifier made from glycerin and a fatty acid. It keeps the bar even and softens how the lather feels on skin.
Without it a tannin bar can feel squeaky rather than clean.
A rich butter pressed from shea nuts. It puts back some of the softness a wash takes away.
The reason the bar does not leave skin tight after the shower.
A humectant — it draws water in and keeps it there, so skin does not dry out between showers.
Soap and glycerin belong together. Many commercial bars remove it; this one keeps it.
